Located in a converted 16th Century water mill on the river Soar near Loughborough, it's way more than just a kitchen showroom. Set in several acres of grounds, where peacocks, guinea fowl, and fallow deer roam, there are four floors of inspirational room sets and showrooms to mooch around.

What is immediately evident, is that the founders of the company, Philip deVries and Paul O’Leary, although trained designers, started in business restoring antique furniture. The kitchen designs are mostly based on the styles and proportions of original antique pieces and Shaker sensibilities. There are plenty of original antiques for sale too, artfully displayed in the room sets and around the building.
Top of my wishlist would have to be the Carrara marble sinks and the hand-made metro tiles, especially in blush pink. Just divine.
I think what struck me the most about deVol is the exquisite attention to detail and finish. The elegant, sweeping, dressed stone spiral staircase from the atrium to the upper floor is a thing of great beauty; from the hand-made banister to the elegantly tapered spindles, it's clear that
